Haulers
Purchasers are responsible for arranging and paying for shipping a horse from the track to your location.

Please have a contract with your hauler outlining your expectations, including but not limited to the number of stops, hay, or no hay, if your horse is to have hay, outline where they hay bag will be hung and where, If horse will be loose or tied in the trailer, number of water stops, where they will stay overnight, etc. Please get everything in writing. Also please make sure the hauler sends you photos of videos of the horse loading. If the hauler is bringing you feed or paperwork, please get this in writing too.

We have had good luck dealing with Haulers who are members of the National Horse Carriers Association.

If you are on the East Coast, please consider hauling your horse from Illinois to Lexington, and overnighting at a layover barn before going east. Many haulers pick up regularly from Lexington.
