A Real Hero is a lovely mare. Very sweet and gentle, perfect to handle, easy to be around. She has no vices and no known injuries. We took her pics on a very blustery day, and she was very compliant and easy, happy to be with us, and interested in grazing. The track is right beside this barn, within 10 feet, and even with active training going on she was just a perfect girl. She has lovely breeding, she is by Exaggerator, who is by Curlin. She has lovely blood on both sides.
She has no known injuries or vices.
She is currently at Fairmount Park Racetrack near St Louis, MO

All horses are located at Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL 62234, just minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. We’re conveniently located within about 4.5 hours (or closer) of many major cities, including Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Each horse is for sale directly by its owner, who determines the purchase price. Gateway Off-Track Thoroughbreds is here to connect you with the owner, guide you through the process, and provide a written bill of sale for your records.
A few important reminders:
All horses listed with Gateway OTTBs are active racehorses with no training beyond the track (unless otherwise noted). They are not suitable for beginners or children without further training.
For safety reasons, riding on racetrack property is not permitted without a valid state racing license.
Free-motion or lunge videos are not available since these horses are stabled at the racetrack.
Horses may continue to race until sold. You can view upcoming entries and full records through the Equibase link provided.
We always recommend scheduling a veterinary pre-purchase exam.
