This baby boy, who goes by the name ROGER, is going to be a SHOWSTOPPER once he grows up and fills out and packs on the muscle. He has so much suspension and movement, he has a LOVELY trot and walk. He is sane, sound, and has only raced twice. He is definitely not interested in racing, despite his famous Grandpa, American Pharoah. He measured with a stick at 16.2 hands tall, and as he is just 3, he has a lot of growing and filling out to do.
He has a wonderful attitude and demeanor. He has no vices; he came out of his stall bright, fed, and happy, and looked at absolutely everything around him. He is a wiggle worm in his jog videos! At just barely 3 years old, it's no wonder he doesn't have "jogging in hand" down pat! It's definitely a learned skill. And, there is just so much to look at! Today there was even a sofa on a front end loader going past!
After 2 dismal starts, and seeing how much suspension he has in his step (makes for a better sport horse than race horse), the trainer and owner have decided that he clearly doesn't want to race and would make a better sport horse. He could show, event, do barrels, or western pleasure. He could also do anything else you wish to do.

He has an impressive pedigree with a ton of big names, from American Pharoah to Empire Maker and so many more, including Smart Strike, and Majestic Warrior.

All horses are located at Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL 62234, just minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. We’re conveniently located within about 4.5 hours (or closer) of many major cities, including Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Each horse is for sale directly by its owner, who determines the purchase price. Gateway Off-Track Thoroughbreds is here to connect you with the owner, guide you through the process, and provide a written bill of sale for your records.
A few important reminders:
All horses listed with Gateway OTTBs are active racehorses with no training beyond the track (unless otherwise noted). They are not suitable for beginners or children without further training.
For safety reasons, riding on racetrack property is not permitted without a valid state racing license.
Free-motion or lunge videos are not available since these horses are stabled at the racetrack.
Horses may continue to race until sold. You can view upcoming entries and full records through the Equibase link provided.
We always recommend scheduling a veterinary pre-purchase exam.
