Well, we are not this frank very often, but man oh man, this one hurts. We have seen Demand Ransom before, and listed him about three years ago. It saddens us that he's still at the track after 108 starts. Yes, you read that right. He has raced 108 times. He deserves a great 2nd career, caring home and eventually retirement.
So - with 108 races under his belt, he is the epitome of a warhorse. A horse made of steel. He has stayed sound for 108 starts, so you know he is a trooper. He's also super laid back, as you can see in his videos, and he has quite a nice, big, lofty trot.
We have two photo albums below, one from 2022 when we last listed him, and one from now, Fall of 2025. We hope you will help us find this guy a loving home. He more than deserves it.

All horses are located at Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL 62234, just minutes from St. Louis, Missouri.
We’re conveniently located within about 4.5 hours (or closer) of many major cities, including Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Each horse is for sale directly by its owner, who determines the purchase price. Gateway Off-Track Thoroughbreds is here to connect you with the owner, guide you through the process, and provide a written bill of sale for your records.
A few important reminders:
All horses listed with Gateway OTTBs are active racehorses with no training beyond the track (unless otherwise noted). They are not suitable for beginners or children without further training.
For safety reasons, riding on racetrack property is not permitted without a valid state racing license.
Free-motion or lunge videos are not available since these horses are stabled at the racetrack.
Horses may continue to race until sold. You can view upcoming entries and full records through the Equibase link provided.
We always recommend scheduling a veterinary pre-purchase exam.
