With her long flaxen mane, Krazy Like Beth has got to be named after Beth Dutton; they are practically twins. This equine Beth, however, is not crazy at all; in fact, she's about as sensible and solid as a 3yo baby horse gets. She took everything in around her, behaved like a doll, trotted like a dream, and was a joy to be around. She is lightly raced with 5 starts and is just not meant to be a racehorse. She was bred by Iowa State University, which is really unusual to see, at least for us. She currently stands 16 hands tall and will continue to grow and fill out for a few years. The trainer, who has only had her for a month, would rather see her go on to a non-racing home, as she clearly has zero interest in running fast.
She was sold at the Iowa Thoroughbred Association Mixed sale in 2024 for $21,000. You can see this data point in her Equibase profile (the button above) by clicking the Auction tab. She has no known injuries and no vices in her stall or on the ground. She is a Pioneer of the Nile Granddaughter on the top with some lovely breeding on the bottom as well.

All horses are located at Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL 62234, just minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. We’re conveniently located within about 4.5 hours (or closer) of many major cities, including Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Each horse is for sale directly by its owner, who determines the purchase price. Gateway Off-Track Thoroughbreds is here to connect you with the owner, guide you through the process, and provide a written bill of sale for your records.
A few important reminders:
All horses listed with Gateway OTTBs are active racehorses with no training beyond the track (unless otherwise noted). They are not suitable for beginners or children without further training.
For safety reasons, riding on racetrack property is not permitted without a valid state racing license.
Free-motion or lunge videos are not available since these horses are stabled at the racetrack.
Horses may continue to race until sold. You can view upcoming entries and full records through the Equibase link provided.
We always recommend scheduling a veterinary pre-purchase exam.
