WILLOW is a been-there-done-that kind of guy. After racing into his 10-year-old year, he was finally retired and allowed to live at the farm. His owners had the thought of making him into a pony horse, but already having two pony horses, they decided he'd be happier having a job with someone else doing something new. He's been hanging out at the farm, hence his wild man appearance. He is such a sweet boy who loves peppermints, and once he gets to know someone, he will form a real bond with them. He's ready to step into any new career you can think of, with his willing attitude and cute trot, and chunky bod - he almost looks kind of quarter horsey.
He raced over 80 times and won more than $100,000 in his career- let's find him something fun to go do!
He has no known injuries or vices. He loves peppermints :)

All horses are located at Fairmount Park Racetrack in Collinsville, IL 62234, just minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. We’re conveniently located within about 4.5 hours (or closer) of many major cities, including Lexington, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Columbus.
Each horse is for sale directly by its owner, who determines the purchase price. Gateway Off-Track Thoroughbreds is here to connect you with the owner, guide you through the process, and provide a written bill of sale for your records.
A few important reminders:
All horses listed with Gateway OTTBs are active racehorses with no training beyond the track (unless otherwise noted). They are not suitable for beginners or children without further training.
For safety reasons, riding on racetrack property is not permitted without a valid state racing license.
Free-motion or lunge videos are not available since these horses are stabled at the racetrack.
Horses may continue to race until sold. You can view upcoming entries and full records through the Equibase link provided.
We always recommend scheduling a veterinary pre-purchase exam.
