Derby Day Gold is a solid mare with a big and floating trot. She has a lovely big shoulder and a powerful hind end - she should have a nice jump! We really love the expression on her face with her white stripe, and that kind eye. She has good legs and feet and is just solid and strong-looking overall, while still being elegant and feminine. We took her out on our own as the trainer was busy with other horses. She let us walk right into her stall and was very polite when we put her halter on and led her out. The trainer asked that we use the lip chain that you will see in her videos- we were very close to the track and there was a lot of horse traffic coming past. She stood beautifully for the pictures without the chain and was very sweet to interact with. She was well behaved for her videos and although forward, wasn't trying to do anything bad. She really moves spectacularly well and looks like she would be a great competitor in any discipline you choose for her.
Her owner states she is retiring with no vices or known injuries.
