WELL, despite our best efforts, and even meeting these buyers in person, Town Crier ended up in imperfect hands, his mom is just far too inexperienced to own a horse at all, and the boarding stable near Chicago reached out, as they need help finding him a new home. Even though the buyers came to the racetrack (a 4-hour drive), met the horse, met the owner, and did all of the stuff, apparently they thought they were buying an Arabian.... despite many convos, now they say they didn't realize any horse needs training, and... they now suddenly cannot afford lessons or training.... Luckily and for this we are grateful, the boarding stable in Chicago reached out, as they want him to find a perfect next home. He is a lovely boy.
He was ridden by a trainer a few times and was lovely, willing, and perfect. Since then, however, his mom has just been riding on a lead line, and he's learned that he can be the boss - he's a bit lazy and bossy and has no one to tell him that he's not in charge.
He has lost some weight since he left the track. Please contact Amber below for recent pics and to ask questions. He is located near Chicago.

ORIGINAL POST:
This guy reminded us of a kind and polite gentleman dressed in a tweed suit. What a lovely boy he is. He has had an interesting path in the racing world and is really ready to do something else.. He started training as a 3 year old and raced once in his 4 year old year. Then his owner/trainer became ill and he lived out in a field for years, doing much of nothing. He was brought back into training and started racing at the end of 2021 at age 7. He's been racing since but at 10 is just ready to retire and be someone's buddy. He's nice and tall, has a nice build and big feet. He appears to have nice clean legs. We think he will make a great sporthorse partner for someone.
Owner states that he is retiring with no known injuries and no known vices.
